Former Dorking Youth star Chris York received news this week that he has been named in the England U20 team to play against Italy U20s on Friday 6th Feb at Worcester and Wales U20s at Bridgend on Friday 13^th. Proud Mum Hilary said “ At this point Chris hasn’t been notified whether he is in the starting fifteen, or on the bench. Obviously he is hoping to get on from the start and at Number Eight. We are all very excited especially as the Wales game will be televised by BBC2 Wales (Sky Channel 991) so maybe some of his Dorking pals will be able to tune in and see the match”. After the Italy and Wales games, the squad is reassessed for the rest of the Tournament and matches with the other Home Unions, after which the squad will be selected for the U2O World Cup in Japan. York’s coach at Dorking Stuart Catton commented; “ Chris’s success is a wonderful fillip to our minis and youth to see what Dorking players can achieve-especially if its on TV even if the commentary will be in Welsh.”
