Dorking Rugby Club's young 1st XV hooker James Catton
continued a marvellous season on Sunday when he was
selected to play for London & South East Division
U20 against the Midlands U20.

James, a major influence as Dorking won the Surrey Cup
earlier this month, earned his divisional call-up
after a string of five outstanding performances for
Surrey U21s in the County Championship. And once
again on Sunday he was on the winning side as London
& SE beat Midlands 26-25 at Cambridge University.
It is a significant achievement as James, a former pupil at
The Ashcombe School in Dorking who lives in Reigate,
is one of very few state schoolboys to earn
selection at this level of representative rugby.
Most of his significant rugby has been played at Dorking RFC
where he was part of the all conquering youth team
that won the National U17 Cup in 2007. He made his
1st XV debut on his 18th birthday the following
season and has kept the No2 shirt ever since for 65
consecutive games, in the process helping the club
to promotion into National League 3 and lifting the
Surrey Cup. And last summer he continued his rugby
education with a four-month stay in South Africa
playing for the National Club champions Hamiltons in
Cape Town.
Club chairman Shaun Grady said: "James has played at Dorking
since a five-year-old and has continued to work hard
at his game. That determination and his natural
ability have continued to flourish as a senior
player and we are delighted to see him honoured at
divisional level. It is very well deserved."
On the Under 19 front, Ryan Jeffrey and Will Crow
both played for the Surrey U19 County Sevens squad
on May 16th. Please find a tournament on the Surrey
website....»here
- but by beating Gloucestershire in the Semi Final
and Leicestershire in the final (60-7) Surrey with
these two guys retained the National U19 County
title.

Meanwhile, Dorking U15 players David Forster and Fraser
Mosley followed strong performances for Surrey with
call-ups to the Harlequins Academy for the National
12-a-side tournament at Harrow School.
Centre Forster, from Cranleigh School, captained the side
and full back Mosley, from The Ashcombe School,
caught the eye of the selectors as Quins took on
Academy sides from Wasps, Gloucester, Bristol,
Saracens, London Irish and Bath.

Both players have subsequently been retained by the Academy
for next season, with Fraser earning the distinction
of being invited to join Harlequins' U16s Elite
Player Development Group.
